DNEST is getting prepared for a smart city network in Meizhou

November 9, 2022

This project will be the third smart city network in that HEISHA drone docks get participated. Meizhou is a city in Guangdong province. Over 24% area of Meizhou is covered by mountains, among them, over 140 mountains are 1000 meters higher above sea level. Moreover, over 56% of Meizhou is downland. In total 80% of Meizhou are not friendly to the traditional way of data collection.

The officers of Meizhou saw our D135 drone dock be successfully applied in Qingdao smart city network and planned to deploy their smart city system with 32 DNEST autonomous drone systems.

Meizhou is not as famous as Qingdao, but its forest coverage is much larger than Qingdao’s, with over 73% coverage rate in Meizhou, and includes 174 forest parks. Drones become a necessary tool for emergencies happening in the forests, that’s where our DNEST autonomous drone solution joins the game.

How does the smart city work?

Autonomy is the core of the whole “smart city” network. With the support of this DNEST drone docking system, there is no need to send anyone to the site to fly the drone and get the videos, the command center will do all the work. Fly the drone to any given point inside the network only takes a few minutes, it is the rapid way to find a missing person or target the fire center. Send back the real-time video in a blink is what DNEST autonomous drone system can basically do, then the command center will give specific and detailed orders to the related department, which not just saves precious time, but also minimize the danger.

After the flight is complete, the drone will return to the drone dock in one click, then the recharge process will be activated, all automated and unmanned.

What’s included in the DNEST?

DNEST autonomous drone solution includes a D60 drone dock, a Freesky drone flight management OS, and a Mavic.

D60 offers a docking and charging station for the Mavic drone, while Freesky controls the Mavic to take off from D60, lands, charges the Mavic on the D60, and gets the streaming videos and pictures in real-time. Seems pretty simple, but much more complicated inside the dock and the whole charging and controlling units. Such as the built-in air conditioner, weather sensors, and multiple PCBs for controlling the entire system to run.
